Warby Parker: For All Your Eye Needs

Let me start this post by informing you all that I am one of the millions of Americans with terrible eyesight (Out of curiosity, I just did a Google search to confirm that number. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention website, approximately 14 million Americans aged 12 years and older have self-reported visual impairment--fun fact of the day. Knowledge is power, people. Knowledge is power.)

But holy cow, do I hate it every single day of my life.

I hate my horrible eyesight. I hate going to the eye doctor to only be told my vision is worsening. I hate sticking my fingers in my eyes every morning to put in my contacts. I hate when I accidentally put a contact in my eye inside out and my whole day is thrown off. I hate spending $300 on glasses that were 50% off. Nothing is worse than already having poor vision and then having to incur ridiculous expenses on top of that.

I did not choose to have bad eyesight, trust me.

I may be a little late to the game but two days ago, I received my first purchase from Warby Parker. To say I'm satisfied with my order would be an understatement.

Never heard of them? Warby Parker defines themselves on their website as being founded with "rebellious spirit" and "a lofty objective." The objective? Designer eye-wear at an affordable price.

A friend of mine recently mentioned Warby Parker as an option when I talked about wanting new glasses. The best thing is you can go online, select five frames, and have them delivered to you FOR FREE to try-on.

Glasses and sunglasses are a big deal. We all have different face shapes and head sizes. I really needed to try on a pair of glasses and go out in public to see how they felt. I was a little hesitant about ordering glasses online but the free at-home try-on kit was a game changer.

After I received my first try-on box, I was hooked.

I was looking for a more "funky" pair of glasses. Something a little more chic that I could wear without feeling like I was walking to my librarian job.

I do like the bigger frames so this is the look I was going for. These are the styles I selected in my try-at-home:

Spoiler alert: the first option was the winner and I'm wearing them as I type this.

When I purchased my said $300 glasses with my arm and a leg, I believe I tried on maybe two or three frames--to which the optician helping me actually told me he didn't like a pair of glasses on me. 'Scuse me? Are you paying for my glasses? Didn't think so. By the time I had finished my eye appointment, I did not care to sit there and try on glasses.

With Warby Parker, you can try on glasses whenever you choose to and you have the ability to wear them out as you get to keep them for 5 days before sending them back.

Now that I've told you the good parts, here's the GREAT part. Guess how much these glasses cost me? Prescription, frames, lenses (anti-scratch), and shipping? $95.

WHAT? Brittany, you lie...

I kid you not. For anyone who has bought prescription glasses from their eye doctor, you know that purchasing glasses never comes easy.

My glasses arrived, in a very sleek box and case, in absolute perfect condition. They were a little wide on my head so I took them to the nearest Warby Parker store and they were tightened within 5 minutes. The optician was fantastic. I cannot say enough good things about this company and their product.

I was so happy with my purchase and the service I received, I just ordered a try-on kit for sunglasses--because any person with bad vision knows you will not survive summer without legitimate prescription sunglasses.

My advice? If you're looking for new glasses, prescription sunglasses, or even just general sunglasses, CHECK THEM OUT. Especially if you're in Charlotte, the Warby Parker store in Southend is convenient and a great location.

I'm all about sharing my positive experiences with you all. I definitely recommend checking out Warby Parker for your next set of glasses. I was torn between two in my box so I'll definitely be back again.

Happy almost Fourth of July, my friends! Have a wonderful weekend and be safe.
